Privacy & analytics
Last updated: 8 September 2026
DJ ZR operates DJZR and is responsible for the information described on this page. Privacy questions can be sent to updates@djzr.club.
What DJZR measures
DJZR uses its own first-party statistical analytics to understand which pages and mixes are useful and how the website can be improved. The measurements can include:
- page views, mix plays, listening time, track selections and navigation choices;
- the broad source that brought a session to DJZR, without storing a full referrer URL;
- device category, browser family, operating-system family and a broad screen-size group; and
- country and region derived at the network edge.
DJZR does not use this information for advertising, remarketing or cross-site tracking. It does not store a raw IP address or raw browser user-agent, and it does not create a persistent visitor profile.
Session identifiers and retention
A random identifier is kept only in the browser's session storage and normally disappears when that browser session ends. The analytics service converts it into a one-way salted hash before database storage.
Detailed event rows are used to create aggregate statistics and are deleted after 24 hours once aggregated. A separate day-and-hash record is retained briefly to avoid counting the same session twice, then removed after the daily count is finalised. Long-term reports contain aggregate statistics rather than individual browsing histories.
Why analytics starts automatically
The sole purpose of this storage and access is to produce aggregate statistics about use of DJZR so the service can be improved. DJZR relies on the statistical-purpose exception in the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. Where the short-lived information is personal data, DJZR relies on its legitimate interest in measuring and improving the service while applying the safeguards described above.
You can object at any time, free of charge. Opting out stops new analytics events from this browser and clears the current DJZR analytics session information.
Your analytics choice
DJZR YouTube Analytics and Google API data
DJZR YouTube Analytics is a private DJ ZR utility used by authorised users to connect the DJ ZR Google/YouTube account to DJZR analytics and administration tools.
When an authorised user grants access through Google OAuth, the application may access only the Google and YouTube information permitted by the scopes approved by that user. This may include YouTube channel information, video information, channel performance metrics and YouTube Analytics data.
Google and YouTube data is used only to provide the requested DJZR channel analytics and related administrative functionality. It is not used for advertising, unrelated profiling or sale to third parties.
OAuth access and refresh credentials may be stored securely where required to maintain the authorised connection and perform requested background or scheduled operations. These credentials are used only to authenticate authorised requests to Google APIs.
Google user data is not sold or shared with advertisers. It may be processed by infrastructure or service providers only where necessary to operate the DJZR service, or disclosed where required by law.
Google and YouTube information is retained only for as long as needed for the DJZR analytics and administration functions for which it was obtained. An authorised user can revoke the application's Google account access at any time from their Google Account permissions page, which prevents future API access using that authorisation.
DJZR YouTube Analytics' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
External media and links
DJZR links to and embeds content from YouTube and Mixcloud. Those services operate under their own privacy information when you use their players or follow an external link. The Mixcloud listening player is loaded only after you choose a mix.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase or restrict personal data, and to object to processing. Because DJZR deliberately avoids persistent identifiers, it may not be possible to connect an aggregate or short-lived record to a particular person. You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner's Office.
